James Lee Phelan's recent work, the Sundance Lab supported feature film TRAMONTANE (written and directed by Vatche Boulghourjian), was in competition at the 55th Semaine de la Critique at Cannes. The short film THE CHAIR (written and directed by Grainger David), was in competition for the Palm D'Or at Cannes in 2012 and won Best Short at SXSW and LAFF. Lee has photographed several features films including Booger Red and Five Time Champion (directed by Berndt Mader), Mulberry Street (directed by Abel Ferrara), Go Down Death (directed by Aaron Schimberg) and A Rising Tide (directed by Ben Hickernell). He also served as the cinematographer for TNT Brazil television series LATITUDES starring Alice Braga and Daniel de Oliveira and recently shot the Rooster Teeth series DAY 5, which premiered in June 2016 on RoosterTeeth.com.

Phelan holds a MFA in Cinematography from NYU.
